What to expect:
When booking a tour with us, you will have to follow easy and smooth steps. In order to make this process even easier for you, you will expect to go though the following:
Start your journey from the port upon arrival or from any other location of your choice. Dedicate the first part to the breathtaking sightseeing tour of Tangier. You will drive through the streets of the new section of the city. While driving, you will notice the busy life of Tangier. People are running to work, to shop and to do their everyday life. Also, you will notice the relaxed aspect of the city depicted by the people who are caught in the moment and relaxing on the sideways of the road. You will drive through the Spanish, Belgian, French, Dutch and through the California district where the wealthiest people live, including the governor and some of the royal families of the middle east. This area is full of villas, mansions and palaces.
Head North, to the furthest point in the African Continent, Cape Spartel. This is where both the Mediterranean and the Atlantic Ocean hug each other to create a peaceful serenity through the sound of the crashing waves. What’s an ocean without a lighthouse! The Spartel lighthouse is no ordinary one. Its unique architecture and history can be almost felt when looking at it. It is a witness of an era when Tangier was ruled by different powers. It was built in 1864 after 9 years of negotiation between the European powers, The United States and the local government. It is now proudly standing overlooking the kingdom and the sea, and attracting people from all over the world.
Continue your beautiful journey along the coast of the Atlantic Ocean to reach the mythical Hercules Caves. These caves date back to the Neolithic era, which is considered the final stage of the Stone Age about 12.000 years ago. You will get the chance to see and maybe ride camels for 30 minutes on the beach just like a royalty from ancient, charming and mysterious times.
Drive back to the city of Tangier in order to start the culturally charming walking part of the tour around the Kasbah and the Medina. You are now at the Kasbah. The smell of history, ancestors and the legacy will take you back in time to an era where life was simpler. The Kasbah is a 15th Century fortification proudly overlooking the Mediterranean, Gibraltar and Spain. Intensify this experience with a visit to the Museum of the Mediterranean history (Kasbah Museum) which was a palace where the Sultan once lived and ruled.
Crown this royal feeling by standing at the porch of Bab Bhar (The Gate into the Sea) where you can see Spain, Gibraltar and the calming blue sea intertwining to create a surreal portrait where space and time fade into oblivion and the only surviving fact is the beauty of the view. Follow the Matisse Route down the labyrinth and alleyways of the Medina, which will take you to the artist’s favorite spots and gems. You can always have the extra choice of having a delicious Moroccan Lunch filled with love and spices that enrich your senses and intensify the authentic experience you came for.
At the end, you can have free time either to enjoy the famous Moroccan Mint Tea at Petit Socco, located at the beating heart of the Medina, or use this time to shop for souvenirs that will constantly remind you of the time you spent in the Kingdom of colors, spices and good souls.
You will then head back to the port of Tangier in your private vehicle in order to catch the ferry back to Tarifa, Spain. If you are staying in Morocco for a longer period, you will be taken and dropped off at your hotel at the end of the tour.
